Inclusion, Sensitivity, and Behavior Training
Drivers develop an understanding of a variety of learning abilities, learn how to help children with developmental disabilities and their peers interact positively, and gain skills in managing extreme behaviors when a child becomes stressed.
We train drivers and bus monitors to expertly load and unload and care for disabled students and their equipment. First Student offers all necessary equipment and accommodations, including wheelchair-accessible buses.
Drivers stay up to date on laws and regulations, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
In the event of an emergency, drivers learn how to evacuate the bus quickly, safely, and without injury.
