At First Student, safety is an integral part of our culture. Our 61,000 employees prioritize the safety of everyone around them, which is why we are the only student transportation company to have been awarded the National Safety Council Green Cross for Safety medal.
Upgraded on-board bus technology
Lake Charles will have a fleet of buses that feature our latest technology, such as our exclusive bus tracking and student discipline reporting systems. Our highly integrated technology will enhance operational efficiency, collect data more effectively, and provide better visibility into routes.
A SPED training program
Our driving staff and on-vehicle monitors will receive targeted training, customized to your needs. Our special education training utilizes research-backed interventions and proven training methods to foster students’ social-emotional development and reduce bus behavior incidents.

Hubert Mabe
Location Manager
Hubert has assisted multiple locations across Louisiana and Mississippi providing support for other Shop Manager and start-ups. As Location Manager, he has worked with multiple customers to strengthen relationships, increase community engagement, and promote teamwork in effort to providing the safest transportation for each location’s communities. Prior to joining First Student, Hubert worked as a safety professional in Florida. Email Hubert.
Outside of work, Hubert enjoys traveling to spend time with his family and attending events his children are participating in. He also enjoys rebuilding antique trucks.

Area Safety Manager - Louisiana
She is also responsible for risk management, Federal DOT/FMCSA and OSHA compliance, along with State and Local contract compliance. Other responsibilities include investigation and resolution of vehicle collisions and Workers’ Compensation claims. Laquenta has been with First Student since January 2006.
