Bus drivers recognized by Ontario School Bus Association for excellence in service and safety
CINCINNATI — Two drivers with First Student Canada, the largest provider of student transportation services in North America, were recently presented with the Driver Excellence Award from the Ontario School Bus Association (OSBA).
The award recognized Cindy Newton of St. Catharines and Barb Powell of Thunder Bay for their exemplary driving abilities and commitment to excellence in the areas of service and safety.
Newtonjoined First Student in 1975, and has never had an accident in her 36 years of driving a
school bus. She is now safely and securely transporting her third generation of students in Niagara-On-The-Lake. Powell has been a member of the Thunder Bay team since 2003. She is well regarded in the community for the care, compassion and comfort she provides for the Lakehead Public School students who ride her bus.
Winners were selected from nominations provided by OSBA members. The organization celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2011.
