CINCINNATI — The National School Transportation Association (NSTA) recently awarded Green Fleet Certifications to seven First Student locations. The NSTA Green School Bus Fleet Certification Program recognizes NSTA members for their efforts in working toward a cleaner environment by using and investing in the latest technology.
Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze certification levels are awarded depending on the level of fleet reduction in particulate matter. The program is endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean School Bus USA Program.
Two First Student locations received Platinum awards:
- Bozeman, Mont.
- Waukesha, Wis.
Five First Student locations received Gold awards:

- Santa Ana, Calif.
- St. Andrews, Calif.

The Green Fleet Certification program was developed in 2010 to help NSTA members achieve and obtain recognition for environmental stewardship in the management of their fleets.
