Acquisition of Seibarth Transportation

CINCINNATI First Student, the leading provider of school bus transportation in North America, continues to grow its presence in Eastern Canada, announcing today the acquisition Seibarth Transportation, a provider of school transportation services. Seibarth Transportation, located in North Bay, Ontario, has been operating since 1994. The company currently services nearly 30 bus routes for a local school consortium.

“We are driving tremendous growth in Eastern Canada,” said First Student CEO and President John Kenning. “Seibarth Transportation is a longtime, well-respected transportation provider. They are equally as passionate as we are about providing students with unmatched care and the safest ride to school. We are proud to welcome Seibarth Transportation to our team and look forward to building on their success.”

In addition to serving more students, First Student continues to lead the industry with the electrification of its fleet in Eastern Canada. The company has more than 170 electric school buses in Quebec and will increase to 300 by the first half of 2023.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to applicable contractual and regulatory approvals.
