CINCINNATI — The Department of the California Highway Patrol has appointed Liz Sanchez, First Student senior vice president of the southwest region, to serve as the urban school bus contractor representative on the School Pupil Transportation Advisory Committee (SPTAC).
The committee consists of 11 members who represent the school pupil transportation industry and regulatory state agencies. Appointees act in an advisory capacity on issues related to the development and adoption of regulations affecting school transportation vehicles and operations.
“It is a tremendous honor to serve on the School Pupil Transportation Advisory Committee,” said Sanchez. “I look forward to sharing ideas and helping to develop strategic practices which will benefit schools and students in California.”
The industry veteran has more than two decades of school transportation experience. Sanchez oversees 46 First Student locations in California, Colorado, Arizona and Utah, and directs all aspects of the southwest region, including customer relations, operational services, financial accountability, along with safety and training.
