CINCINNATI — First Student, Inc., the nation’s leader in student transportation, seeks qualified applicants to join the company’s new team in Lutcher, La., serving the St. James Parish Schools. First Student begins a five-year contract with the district in April.
Interested applicants should apply in person at the First Student Lutcher office located at 1876 West Main Street, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Applicants must understand the importance of driving a school bus and make safety their core value. Potential drivers must:
- Be able to safely transport students in a timely manner and complete all pre- and post-trip shift activities.
- Be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license with at least three years of driving experience.
- Possess a sincere desire to work with the public, follow all traffic and corporate regulations, and meet additional company requirements.
- Pass the company’s extensive background checks, drug and alcohol tests, and rigorous training program, which includes in-classroom, behind-the-wheel and safety training for new drivers.
