CINCINNATI—More than 750 districts, schools and private organizations across the U.S. have chosen to renew or extend their contracts with First Student, the nation’s leader in student transportation.

With each contract, First Student brings a number of safety tools and technology to a district’s buses. These tools can include GPS tracking systems which allow staff to pinpoint the exact location and speed of each bus at any given time, crossing gates to allow children to cross in front of the bus at a safe distance, and the Child Check-Mate electronic reminder system designed to ensure no child is left unattended on a bus. The company also utilizes a vehicle inspection component which immediately identifies any maintenance issues that need addressing during the driver’s daily safety inspections and ensures buses are operating at maximum safety and efficiency levels. First Student also has a team in place to assist districts with maximizing route efficiencies.
