CINCINNATI — Beginning January 16, hundreds of Cincinnati Public School students enrolled in a participating YMCA after-school program will lace up their skates and take a turn on the Fountain Square ice rink as part of the annual School Skates program.
The program provides students with free access to the popular downtown ice rink throughout January and February. First Student provides free round-trip transportation from each of the participating schools, ensuring safe and reliable bus service for each of the more than 400 participants. One school group skates each afternoon.
“We are pleased to participate in the School Skates program and are proud to partner with CPS, YMCA and 3CDC,” said Joe Eversole, senior location manager for First Student Cincinnati. “We look forward to helping create lasting memories for each student.”
The School Skates program fulfills a health and wellness component offered as part of the YMCA after-school curriculum.
