First Student Donates Buses for Field Trips to Bryan Memorial Gallery

June 11, 2008

WESTFORD, VTFirst Student, the nation’s leader in student transportation, is donating its school bus services so that elementary school children in Lamoille North Supervisory Union, Lamoille South Supervisory Union, Essex Town School District and Milton Town School District can enjoy the beauty of some of New England’s greatest landscape artists featured at the Bryan Memorial Gallery.

“We see this as a way to give back to the communities we serve,” says First Student contract manager Tim O’Toole. “Field trips provide a wonderful way for children to learn outside the classroom. We’re pleased to donate our bus services to help support the local school districts’ commitment to enriching students’ educational experience. The Bryan Memorial Gallery is an ideal site for this extended learning.”

O’Toole notes that riding a bus is the safest way to get back and forth to school, even safer than riding in a passenger car, walking or riding a bike. First Student is committed to safety and provides school bus transportation to students in the Lamoille and Chittenden County areas.

The Bryan Memorial Gallery welcomes thousands of visitors, including school children, to its gallery each year. The Bryan Memorial Gallery, known for its exhibition of the finest landscape painters in New England, maintains a permanent collection, a year long schedule of changing exhibitions, and offers workshops and programs that nurture appreciation of and education in the visual arts.
