First Student Coventry Raises Money to Help Women with Cancer

December 2, 2014

CINCINNATI First Student Coventry, R.I., recently donated more than $1,000 to Pink Heals, a non-profit organization which supports women who are recovering from cancer treatment.

Employees raised the money by holding a weekly raffle of donated prizes in October and November. The location chose Pink Heals because more than 100 of its employees have been affected by cancer, including some personally.

“We are pleased to help out such a worthwhile cause,” said Barbara Polinick, First Student Coventry Location Manager. “Pink Heals works to make a difference in the lives of women battling cancer, and we are proud to join in the fight.”

Many of the 550 First Student locations across North America take an active role in their communities throughout the year. Several locations have long-term partnerships with organizations within their communities who they assist on an annual basis.
