We recently celebrated Employee Appreciation Day at all of our locations throughout North America. This was a wonderful opportunity to thank our team for delivering on our promise of — Caring for students today, tomorrow, together.®
The good work our employees do and the services they provide to our student passengers are what make First Student the trusted leader in student transportation. To state it simply, they are the First Student advantage.
We recognize the important impact we can have on the communities we serve. Our team strives to provide students the best start and the best finish to each school day.
While we set aside a special day to express our appreciation, we are genuinely grateful to our employees every day for their hard work and dedication.
Members from our Corporate Support Team visited numerous locations to show appreciation for the work of local teams during the Employee Appreciation Day events. Every location was treated to a catered meal or buffet and the local teams set up entertaining events for their teams. Those events and celebrations ranged from a dunk tank to a DJ and dance floor, and from card and board games to sketch comedy skits pertaining to the student transportation industry.
Our locations captured the spirit of Employee Appreciation Day in hundreds of photos. You can join in the celebrations by going to First Student’s Instagram page.
Our customers also took part in our appreciation days and visited our locations to say thank you to our staff. Here are just a few of those events:
First Student President Dennis R. Maple was part of the Employee Appreciation Day festivities at our Main Street location in Rochester, New York. Dennis personally thanked everyone for helping First Student deliver our promise to our students and our communities.

It wasn’t only Employee Appreciation Day that was cause for celebration at our First Student location in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. This team is also celebrating 25 years of service to the Mt. Pleasant School District. Everyone, attired in their new First Student polo shirts, enjoyed a hot breakfast buffet at the Norvelt Golf Club. There was a strong show of appreciation for our employees, not just from our own leadership, but also from the school district superintendent, Dr. Tim Gabauer (pictured at left with First Student Dispatcher, Linda Seice) and business manager, as well the local union representative.
In Bristol, Connecticut, the Director of Transportation from Bristol Public Schools, Greg Boulanger (right), took part in the Employee Appreciation Day events. He’s pictured here with the First Student Location Manager, Patty Bernier (left).
