Teaming up with iHeart Media, Inc. for the 21st Annual Stuff-A-Bus toy marathon was Location #11308 in Barnstable, Massachusetts, benefiting the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
From Dec. 9-12, location drivers brought school buses to the parking lot at Toys R US in Hyannis, Mass. where D.J. Kevin Matthews from 106 WCOD spent 60 consecutive hours broadcasting inside the buses until 33 buses were filled with toys.
Then on Sunday, Dec. 12 at Noon, with sirens blaring and lights flashing, dozens of police cruisers and fire engines from across Cape Cod came to the location to unload toys they had collected. Later they provided an escort for the buses in a parade.
At the end of the drive more than 28,800 toys were collected and given to children residing in Cape Cod.
“My drivers and dispatcher who donated their time over this weekend truly showed our level of commitment to our customers,” said Location Manager Paula Willis. “Each year my team looks forward to participating in this community engagement project.”
We knowledge and thank everyone at the Barnstable location for your role in making First Student a part of this great community tradition during the holiday season.
