Massachusetts location “Stuffs the Bus” to help elementary school teachers and students

First Student drivers from Location #12528 came together with members of the community to support the staff and students of Teaticket Elementary school with a “Stuff the Bus” event.  In late August, just days before the start of school, Teaticket Elementary was closed. Contractors discovered a substance believed to be asbestos. Many teachers had already started setting up classrooms. For their safety, teachers were not allowed back into the building and could not access materials they had already brought inside. This translated into a need of school and classroom supplies — from pencils and paper to textbooks and decorations. To help, the Falmouth location donated a bus and several team members donated their time to greet the community, sort through the donations and transport donated materials to the administration building. Many team members also made contributions. The community stepped up, too. The event was success. In an eight hour period, the bus was nearly filled.
