Demonstrating a commitment to ensuring school buses remain the safest way for students to get to and from school, five First Student locations in Kansas have achieved a perfect score on transportation safety reviews by the Kansas State Department of Education. The annual review aims to ensure school buses are operating safely in the state. Nearly 230,000 students in Kansas ride school buses every day. As part of the review, the state conducts fleet inspections, analyzes maintenance records and examines driver data. First Student locations that received a perfect score are: • Coffeyville • Gardner • De Soto • Lawrence • Olathe “We recognize the tremendous responsibility placed upon us to provide safe and reliable transportation every school day,” said Area General Manager John Billigmeier. “Receiving a perfect score on the state transportation safety review shows the dedication of our location teams in the communities we serve.
