Location collects food to help at-risk students over the summer

June 30, 2016

This summer, kids in need will start with the most important meal of the day thanks to the dedication of the First Student team in Troy, Michigan!

Our location in Troy, Michigan, recently participated in a cereal drive for Detroit Children’s Hospital. By partnering with radio station 100.3 WNIC’s Jay Towers, Kroger and the Professional Nurses Council, the First Student team was able to collect more than 29,000 servings of cereal.

A truly collaborative effort, the Troy School District donated the school bus for the cereal drive and Troy Location Manager Kathy Kochanski, Location Safety Manager Matthew Benson and Dispatcher Sharon Bowlby volunteered for the event. Driver Bob Bartell transported the full bus to Detroit Children’s Hospital.    Troy Michigan food drive
