Our Kodiak, Alaska, team is helping to make a difference in the fight against cancer. The location recently participated in a local Relay for Life event to benefit the American Cancer Society. For 24 hours, participants walked the track at Woody Way Field in Kodiak to show their support and raise funds for those affected by cancer.
“Many of us have a personal connection to this cause,” shared Location Manager Jerry Clark. “There are cancer survivors on our First Student team in Kodiak and in our own families. We are proud to support the American Cancer Society’s goal to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.” This was the seventh year that the location sponsored a Relay team. Employees also donated enough items to hold three rummage sales to benefit the American Cancer Society. Thanks to their efforts, the Kodiak team raised more than $3,000 in support of cancer research.
