First Student Bus Comes Alive Dressed as “Frosty”

December 23, 2016

First Student Location #20740 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, rang in the holiday season by participating in the 33rd Annual Prevea Green Bay Holiday Parade.

Marching bands, floats, giant balloons and a First Student bus decorated as “Frosty the Snowman” made its way through the downtown streets.

The theme for this year’s parade was “A Winter Wonderland”, so two drivers, Trish Franco and Patty Harris, decided to decorate the bus as “Frosty.”

For six hours, once the bus returned from its route, several team members helped Trish and Patty decorate the bus with lights, a 3-foot top hat, a corn cob pipe and a 2-foot carrot nose, in order to have Frosty ready by 6:00 a.m. the next morning.

The location even decided to include Safety Dog into the theme, so they had the mascot appear from the roof hatch throughout the parade.

Walking along the parade route with “Frosty” were children from Early Learning Center and Friedrich Froebel Garden of Early Learning.

Drivers made snowmen shirts for all the 4 and 5-year olds to wear who walked in the parade.

For the team’s efforts, First Student was awarded the “Mayor’s Award.” This is the second time the location won this coveted award.

“Everyone really came together and did a marvelous job in decorating the bus,” said Location Manager Brenda Grunniwaldt. “We had such tremendous support from my team members and our two learning centers. I can’t thank them enough.”
