Our drivers are trained to be alert, which is why Lisa Zufall of our Rockwood, Missouri location knew something was not right when she returned from her route last January. Lisa spotted two little girls in the woods behind the location. She promptly reported it to dispatch. Lisa drives for Pond Elementary, and our location immediately contacted the school. It turns out the girls were reported missing, and authorities were close to issuing an Amber Alert. Thanks to Lisa’s quick actions, the girls were found safe a short time later. The principal of Pond Elementary and a school administrator recently visited the location to present Lisa with flowers and thank her for her actions. The superintendent of Rockwood shared the statement below on the district’s website. “I would like to give a shout out to one of our bus drivers, Lisa Zufall. Lisa was a real hero as she aggressively took the initiative to respond when she witnessed two elementary students inappropriately leaving their school building this morning. The students were retrieved and I’m confident Lisa’s actions prevented a lot of potential worry and danger for these children!” Lisa went above and beyond the call of duty and her actions made a real difference for these girls.
