Making a difference in the lives of children is just what Location #20462 in Santa Ana, California did when they recently donated a bus to a non-profit organization that helps children in the fulfillment of their potential by placing them in linguistic and culturally sensitive environments. When the location purchased 26 new buses, a decision was reached to donate one of the older buses to the Niño’s Latinos Unidos (NLU) organization for the training and transporting of foster children to their new homes. Orange County Senior Location Manager Debi Manley coordinated the donation with members of the organization’s leadership team. On January 19, Debi and her Location Shop Manager Cesar Iniguez delivered the bus to the foster care agency where several staff members were waiting to receive the much needed vehicle. “The folks at NLU were simply over-the-moon in receiving this donation,” said Debi. “I’m so proud to be a part of a company who believes in paying it forward.” Additionally, when the non-profit received 300 tickets to Disneyland for their children, again First Student stepped forward and donated six buses and drivers for this outing.
