Our location in the Village of Florida, New York recently donated a bus used for demonstration drills by first responders. The regional safety and security event was open to the public. Several law enforcement agencies participated in the event including the region’s Tactical Unit, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police Canine Unit. Safety and security drills ran the gamut. A crowd favorite was the Canine Unit demonstration. Officers hid contraband on the bus, and the canine partners put their keen detection skills into action. “Providing a vehicle to allow for authenticity in the demonstrations was a great way of showing our support not only for our local and state police agencies, but also for our community as a whole,” shared Location Manager Sharon Becz.
