As the troubles continue with the public water source in Flint, Michigan, the team at our location in Adrian, Michigan, has stepped up to help. The location partnered with its customers to send donations of bottled water to their neighbors almost 100 miles to the north.
On February 1, First Student Adrian team members transported 212 cases and 22 gallons of water to the Holy Angel Soup Kitchen in Flint on behalf of the Adrian School District. They also sent a second bus on February 2 with 242 cases and 128 gallons of water to the Powers Catholic High School on behalf of the Madison School District and the Lenawee Intermediate School District.
“We are glad to deliver a basic necessity of life to our neighbors in Flint as they weather this crisis,” shared Location Manager Terry Holbert. “Working in collaboration with our partners to provide support to a neighboring community has given new meaning to community engagement.”
