Putting Our Communities First at Thanksgiving

December 6, 2021

First Student teams in New York, Pennsylvania, Alaska, Illinois, and Kansas gave back to the communities they serve this Thanksgiving.

In Wichita, KS, drivers delivered meals to 20 families of the students they transport every school day. You can watch the local news coverage at KSN Channel 3.

Drivers in Northampton, PA donated 20 full boxes of food which went to 18 families at the elementary schools they drive for and two of their own families. Each box came with donated food items and turkey vouchers donated by drivers. The team even surpassed last year’s number by four additional boxes.

The Juneau, AK team wrapped up its 9th season participating in a local food drive. Together they collected 22,2000 pounds of food with six drivers and two buses at two sites.

In Rock Falls, IL, team members filled 55 food boxes with 26 essential items for those in need. They also included warm winter clothes including hats, gloves, and hoodies.

Drivers, staff members and the entire Rochester, NY community helped stuff a First Student bus for the annual Thanksgiving Stuffing Food Drive.

The food drive helps more than 1,500 families in the community.
