First Student location selected as Spotlight Business for the Month

Location #11419 in Coffeyville, KS was awarded the Coffeyville Area Chamber of Commerce Spotlight Business Award for the month of May. The Location is the only bus company in Coffeyville and provides transportation for the Coffeyville United School District. Location Manager Lisa Cox oversees an incredible team of 19 employees. “Without my team of dedicated drivers, monitors and technicians, our buses are useless,” said Lisa. “Together we are the well-oiled machine that gets our children safely to and from school each day. I believe that everyone has ideas that should be heard, and this group has some great ones.” The Location is organizing an open house event at the location this summer. Some of the fun activities include the 2nd annual “Stuff the Bus” event. Community members are invited to help children and their families by donating school supplies and money. Safety Dog will be on site to teach children about bus safety and to entertain. Parents and students will have the chance to meet their route bus drivers, ask questions, and get to know the staff and tour the facility. Lisa added ” the one thing this Location and First Student is best known for is safety”. The Location has been accident free for the 12 years running.
