First Student, the trusted leader in student transportation, has named Bill Noftz as area general manager of its Alaska locations. In this expanded role, Noftz will also continue to be responsible for the overall performance of the company’s Washington state locations, including financial results, operational performance, safety, fleet and maintenance.

Noftz joined the First Student team in January 2014 as location manager for its Tacoma, Wash., location. He subsequently became the company’s area general manager for its Washington state locations. Noftz has more than 25 years of experience in the school transportation industry. Prior to joining First Student, he was the transportation director for Santa Clara Unified School District and the Silicon Valley Transportation JPA.
