First Student Helps Provide Transportation for 2014 Special Olympics

July 9, 2014

CINCINNATI—First Student was selected to provide shuttle service for the Special Olympics 2014 USA Games in New Jersey. Hundreds of school bus drivers transported athletes, coaches and spectators to various venues in the Lawrenceville and Princeton.

“We were proud to partner with the Special Olympics.” said Ursula Rinas, First Student Location Manager. “What made the event was the incredible determination of the athletes. They were such an inspiration to all of us. No matter how long the hours of operation, we could not let them down.”

First Student drivers from five locations in New Jersey transported more than 10,000 participants during the Special Olympics, which was held June 15-20. First Student operated shuttle service for 15 hours each day of the event.
