Drivers pack food boxes for low-income seniors

February 2, 2017

Giving is a way of life, and for team members at Location #20737 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, giving came in the form of participating in the Hunger Task Force Stockboxes project. On a Saturday morning in early December, drivers volunteered their time to build and fill Stockboxes for seniors in their local community. A Stockbox is a box of healthy foods that’s delivered to low-income seniors free of charge. Each box contains 16 nutritious items including rice, cereal, juice and vegetables. It is estimated that each month more than 9,000 boxes are delivered to seniors in Southeastern Wisconsin. “We wanted to give back to the people we serve in this community,” said Location Manager Michael Comstock. “This project aligned directly with our core values of being committed to our customers – my team was eager to help and play a part in ending hunger for seniors in need.”
