Warren Buffett, an American investor, business magnate and philanthropist once said “In looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence and energy.” “Driver Sally Sollors exemplifies these three attributes,” explained Della Spencer, Location Manager in Kincardine, Ontario. Sally was recognized by First Student and G.C. Huston Public School at a school assembly, in early February, for being the longest serving bus driver in the region. Sally received a certificate of appreciation and a plaque that commemorated her 35 years of transporting students without accident or incident. “It’s drivers like Sally who are the backbone of our organization,” said Multi-Safety Coordinator Phil Sargent. “We’ve had other long-term drivers but have never had a driver like Sally who has driven the same route for the same school for this long.” Sally’s Port Elgin team members also speak highly of her. They describe her as a true professional and someone who embraces new technology like the Zonar system and has an unwavering commitment to her passengers. She plans to retire this spring.
