CINCINNATI— Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) recently recognized First Student Driver Richard Fumi with its prestigious Pinnacle Award for Outstanding Service. The award honors those on the hospitality front line who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide excellent customer service.
“We are so proud that Richard was recognized for his outstanding service,” said Joe Eversole, First Student location manager. “His commitment is unparalleled, and this award is a testament to his hard work and dedication.”
Fumi joined the First Student team in 2007. In addition to transporting Cincinnati Public School students to and from school and extra-curricular events, he also serves as a dispatcher. During the summer of 2012, Fumi helped manage charter operations for the World Choir Games, which included making sure more than 50 buses for participants were on time and at the correct location during the two week competition. At the end of the event, First Student learned of a choir that arrived too late to compete in the official games. Fumi volunteered his time to drive members around Cincinnati so they could perform in area churches and community venues.
Fumi received the award during the CVB’s annual meeting March 6 in Cincinnati. He was one of three individuals recognized for their service achievements.
