Todd Monteferrario has been named president of the National School Transportation Association (NSTA). The election took place July 22 during the Association’s annual meeting and convention in Minneapolis.
Monteferrario is an industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in student transportation. He currently serves as Senior Director of Operational Excellence for First Student, the leading school transportation solutions provider in North America. Monteferrario has been with First Student since 2002 when the company acquired Bergen-Passaic Transportation Service, which was owned by Monteferrario’s family.
Monteferrario has been a member of NSTA for 19 years. He has been actively involved in many of the Association’s committees. Monteferrario has also served on the NSTA Board of Directors for more than 15 years.
“I am honored to serve as President for the National School Transportation Association and to represent our membership,” said Monteferrario. “We will continue to provide school transportation professionals with the tools and resources they need to make school buses safe, secure, affordable and efficient nationwide.”
Monteferrario is a 2011 recipient of the NSTA Golden Merit Award and was recognized with the NSTA Distinguished Service Award in 2013 for his substantial contributions to the student transportation industry.
