Darrel Harris serves as Chief Commercial Officer for First Student, bringing nearly 30 years of experience 
in fleet-based operations, commercial strategy, and transformative leadership.
As CCO, Darrel leads all revenue-generating functions — including all business development, marketing, communications, charter services, and consulting — with a focus on driving growth while elevating the customer experience. He plays a pivotal role in aligning commercial priorities with operational delivery, helping First Student deliver smarter, safer, and more student-centered transportation solutions.
Darrel joined First Student in 2024 and is focused on aligning customer insights, sales execution, and strategic planning to drive growth, strengthen retention, and expand the value we deliver to school districts nationwide.
Previously, Darrel served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Yellow Corporation. He began his career at FedEx Freight, holding senior roles across operations and sales for more than 17 years.
